| ITW Highland
operates under one of the most innovative and efficient
manufacturing processes developed. The facility is physically
broken into (6) individual, self sufficient, working "Cells".
They complete their own planning, handle their own raw materials,
and house their own tool rooms. Specific types of
jobs and specific machine sizes are what divide the cells.
All of this allows for a more concentrated focus on our
customers needs. |

| ITW Highland Global Supply |
ITW Highland
is a subsidiary company to ITW (Illinois Tool Works). A few
of the companies of note that Highland ships directly overseas
to are Ford Hungary, Teves Mechlin and Parker UK. On it's own
Highland can be considered a true global supplier however, functioning
under the ITW umbrella offers us much more than a substantial
financial backing. Illinois Tool Works is a multinational Fortune
500 company based in Glenview, Ill. Through more than 365 decentralized
operating units; they engineer and manufacture fasteners, components,
assemblies and systems for customers around the world. Having
the accessibility to go through the many sister companies involved
in the ITW family allows us to completely serve our customers
with the highest level of quality and service solutions. The
Drawn Metal group consist of five individually run companies.
Each of the companies specializes in deep drawn metal stampings
and each is considered to be a technical leader. The group employs
over 900 people and over 800,000 square feet of manufacturing
space. The entire Drawn metals division is QS9000/ISO9002 certified,
and offers extensive in-house tool design and build capacity.
| Highlands press equipment, ranges in ages
of 20 years to 1 year of age. We have on-site machine rebuilding
capabilities allowing us the ability to avoid any substantial
down time for repairs or maintenance. ITW
Highland is also in the process
of updating the electronics and non-contact probes located
in our presses, these mechanisms are essential in checking
each part dimensionally. Highland is always looking to upgrade
and add to the 130 presses located in our Waterbury location.

| ITW Highland Quality Process |
 |
Remo Gualducci, Irene Despins, and Angela Gillette
are a few Key Members of Highland's Quality Team | | Highlands
Quality structure follows the principles set forth by the QS system requirements
manual. The manual establishes both procedures and instructions. Highland also
stages review meeting called APQP Meetings (Advance Product Quality Planning)
to be held prior to the start of any new job. These meetings address special characteristics,
SPC, or special processes that become part of the new part process. There is a
cross-functional representation of people who attend these meetings from customers,
engineers, sales, and quality. |
| ITW Highland Testing Facilities |
Highland has a fully staffed quality department assigned with
skilled personnel who are constantly being trained in the latest
inspection technologies. The staff operates in a newly remodeled
Quality department lab where they are equipped with all the
appropriate tools and equipment for the proper inspection to
take place. We are also equipped to perform hardness and tensile
testing, in-house.
| ITW Highland Quality Measurement |
As part of our everyday business practice ITW
Highland monitors manufacturing
rejects, vendor performance and scrap. For us to maintain an
efficient workflow, satisfy customers requirements and
remain profitable it becomes essential for Highland to track
these occurrences. ITW Highland
conducts a monthly MOS Meeting (Management Operating Systems)
where all of the data from the monitoring is reviewed and, if
necessary, teams are put into place to determine the appropriate
corrective actions.
| ITW Highland Qualitive Process |
Highland has established a process of keeping Control Plans
at every workstation, where parts are produced. These plans
call out a dimensional specifications critical to producing
the part. These plans are updated and maintained on a regular
basis. The plans are also reviewed through the ISO/QS six-month
audits.
 |
Highland has access to it's own In-house Prototype
development area, complete with dedicated equipment
and tools to help develop your next project |
